Hello Dr. Choo
I have a very big cavity with an exposed nerve on tooth 26(top left, 3rd from back). I am wondering if this could be causing slight swelling and soreness of my jaw on that side? My bottom wisdom tooth is also coming in on that side. The main reason I am concerned is because my lymph nodes are stating to swell also on that side and I am getting a sensation of something stuck in my throat. Could this be due to my top teeth growing in my sinus?
Thank in advance.

You should definitely get this looked at ASAP. Whether it's from the upper left cavity or from the wisdom tooth, it sounds like the infection is spreading under your neck.
Swelling of the lymph nodes and PARTICULARLY swelling at the back of the throat, could potentially start to block your airway. If you are having trouble breathing or starting to speak in a hoarse voice, go to emergency ASAP!!! You may need intravenous antibiotics and/or need to drain the abcess from the swollen glands.
I don't mean to alarm you but you could potentially have the worst thing that can happen when you leave an infected tooth - a trip to the hospital.
Get it looked at,
Dr. Choo

Thank-you for the quick response. You have been more helpful than 3 doctors and 1 dentist. I was at the dentist earlier today and he didn't act like it was a major deal. I agree with you though and I believe the infection is possibly spreading. I have an appointment to get a root canal done on the tooth next week. I have been taking APO AMOXI 500MG since Saturday and do feel it might be helping a bit. Is this too long to wait to get my tooth fixed, and how long will it take for the amoxicillin to clear up my throat if it's going to? Also the only pain I experience in both teeth is from the top when I drink cold liquids. Does, this make a difference?
