I do not have dental insurance at the moment

Hello Dr. Choo,

I have visited your office once in the recent past for a dental cleaning and I found your practice to be very comfortable and the staff to be quite helpful.

At the moment, I work full time for an employer who does not offer dental insurance coverage.  I am a little worried because I may need to get a dental implant in the future and am wondering how much this costs and if payment plans are available?

Thanks so much!

The average cost for a dental implant is $3000-3500. The implant portion which is embedded in the bone (usually preformed by a dental specialist) costs approx. $1200-1700. The implant is then left undistrubed for an average of 3-6 months to integrate with the bone. Then the final crown (which looks and functions as a tooth is fabricated on this implant. This portion is generally done by a general dentist and costs approx $1800-2300. Other additional costs may include special xrays ($500), sinus lifts, bone augmentations, etc...

If a general dentist performs both the implant and the final crown, the costs can be less. However since I always refer the implant portion to a specialist, I cannot comment on how much cheaper it would be.

Most dental offices do provide a payment plan for qualified patients.

Good luck,
Dr Choo
