ASK DR. CHOO
Braces
Hello Dr. Choo,
I have a question. I am currently in need of braces. I went to an orthodontist for a consultation and he told me I need braces for 1-1 1/2 year, but I didn't need to take out any teeth. I then went to another orthodontist and he told me I needed to extract 2 teeth on the top and I need braces for 2 years or more. I am really confused. Can you help me? My teeth are crowded and off-center.
Also, I was wondering if you had any recommendations for orthodontists in the GTA?
Thanks.

Yes, different orthodontists have different schools of thought. It is confusing for the patient but rest assure, both techniques would produce straighter teeth regardless of the treatment modality.
That is why it is important to get 2-3 opinions and get a better idea of which treatment makes the most sense to you, and the orthodontist you feel the most comfortable trusting with your teeth.
I recommend Dr Sky who is near Royal York and Bloor in the west end. She is really great.

Hello Doctor:
I am looking for an orthodontist in the west end of Toronto for my 13 year old daughter. I see you have recommended Dr. Sky, is there anyone else I should consider?
